Methodology

The dashboard is designed to separate official data, market proxies, estimates, and unavailable feeds instead of blending them silently.

Risk score

The prototype risk score weights reserve days, retail price movement, crude oil pressure, AUD/USD movement, regional exposure, and news signal intensity. The production version should calibrate these weights against historical disruptions and publish the exact formula.

Source labels

Live means the updater successfully refreshed from the source.
Cached means a recent stored value is being served.
Requires key means the source exists but credentials are absent.
Fallback means demo or stale values are shown with explicit labelling.

Update cadence

FuelWatch and news can update frequently. Reserve statistics update on a slower official cadence. Market and currency data should be throttled and cached to avoid rate limits.
